PREY VENG ZOO
Animals live in harrowing conditions
and need help
'The Zoo of Death' - March 2019 still open
Prey Veng Zoo is about one hour from Phnom Penh in Kamchay Mear District,
Prey Veng Province. It was established in 1995, destroyed by floods in 2010 - 2011, renovated and reopened for tourists.
The footage below was reported to Zoo Watch by tourists who visited Prey Veng Zoo
and shows of the horrendous living conditions for animals at this facility proving why this zoo must be closed.
DECEMBER 2015
Early December 2015, Christine Harman visited Prey Veng Zoo and took this album of photos. Christine was horrified to witness the living conditions in which the animals and birds were kept. As described throughout this website, all animals and birds were reportedly suffering from severe neglect.
The Asiatic bears were a grave concern.
A sign clearly stated that the bears are funded by an American/Japanese leading animal testing company Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories (SNBL).

JULY 2013
Footage taken by a tourist who visited Prey Veng Zoo in 2013 and then in 2015. Many of the animals in these photos were reportedly not at the zoo in 2015.
